Community Welfare

1. SCHOOLS
The Rossouw family of Mooigezicht has played an important role in the establishment and development of three schools in the Hex River Valley. These are the Bonne Esperance Primary School during the 1950’s (named after the family farm), the Simbabalwe Primary School in the 1970’s and the Sipumalele High School in the 1990’s.

2. FACILITIES AND TRAINING CENTRE
The Mooigezicht Training Centre is used for a variety of facilities and functions. It houses the library, literacy training, church meetings, concerts, technical and human resource development etc.

3. DONATIONS
As part of social responsibility of the Company, we regularly make donations to institutions for the care of the less privileged. These include blankets, food, building materials, bibles and financial assistance to people in the broader community.

4. SOUP KITCHENS
Mooigezicht supports soup kitchens for children and the elderly living in the informal settlements in De Doorns. These are operated on a bi-weekly basis during the winter months of May to September and provide soup and bread free of charge.
